James Barker, Madeline Merlo & Dean Brody @ Stampede Corral in Calgary, AB, Canada
Review & Photography by: Cassidy O’Hara
In Calgary, Alberta I got to experience my very first country concert which included The James Barker band, Madeline Merlo, and Dean Brody. Â which I enjoyed more than I thought I would. The crowd was insane. Country fans really know how to bring the house down. The first Band to perform was the James Barker band which really set the bar high for the rest of the night, and they were by far one of the best openers I’ve seen in a long time, very interactive with the crowd and you could tell that they were having the time of their lives since it was the last show of this tour.
Secondly Madeline merlo came on, I didn’t know many of the songs but she defiantly gained another fan after her amazing performance. As well her band was very friendly and visited with me after the act to look through some of the photos, which was a really new and cool experience for me. Lastly Dean Brody comes on with a over whelming amount of stage smoke which I was shocked by, but it defiantly made for cool photos. The crowd went wild when he came on and, especially when he ripped of his top pants to reveal his actual outfit. He performed using a ukulele for some of the songs which I thought was a cool touch for country music. Overall I will defiantly be going to more country shows in the future because the experience was one of the best I’ve had.
