Interview by: Samantha Toy
Out of all of your songs, which song would represent you at this particular stage of your career?
I would say, “HERE TODAY” is most representative of my career right now. In that song, I reflect on where I’ve come from and the state of mind you need as an artist to persevere in a business that can be turbulent.
You’re also going to be featured on a new season of Artbound Presents: Studio A as part of its “Summer of the Environment.” How was it being a part of their show?
I appreciated the invite to be part of the show. It gave me a chance to share a softer side of my artistry. A couple of the songs I performed were lullabies inspired by fatherhood and others were acoustic songs that I have been eager to perform.
What can we, the fans, expect in the future from you? Any upcoming tours, or musical collaborations?
I have been recording new songs for my next release. This time around I am collaborating with other lyricists whereas in the past I generally wrote all the lyrics myself. I’m sure I will tour as soon as I release a new album, but I will continue to do shows here and there in between recording sessions.
