Airways, MISSIO, and Nothing But Thieves @ Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA

Review & Photography by: Samantha Toy

First onstage was Airways who originate from Peterborough, England. The band performed songs from their EP, Starting to Spin which released earlier this year, and their single, One Foot has over 1 million streams on Spotify! They brought much joy in the room all the way from their British accents to their music. Airways is definitely the band you’ll want to see live, and make sure to keep tweeting them on Twitter @airwaysofficial for them to perform again in the United States.

The next act on this tour was MISSIO, and it was great to catch their set again. The trio had the crowd of fans from an almost sold out show dancing along to their music. At one part during their set, they had everyone raise their middle fingers in the air and had the crowd sing along with them to their song, Middle Fingers. They’re such nice guys, and definitely fun to see live!

If you listen to Muse, Arctic Monkeys, or X Ambassadors, you’ll love Essex’s Nothing But Thieves. The band consists of Conor Mason, Dom Craik, Phil Blake, James Price, and Joe Langridge-Brown who all came together back in 2012. Right now, the band is touring in North America in honor of the band’s second album, Broken Machine which released just last month. (Check out review in our latest issue here!) The band opened up with my favorite song, I’m Not Made By Design, and performed a majority of their songs from this record, and some from their first. Conor even sang Free Fallin’ in honor of the late legendary Tom Petty. If you’re looking for another concert to attend or want another favorite band, Nothing But Thieves is your best bet.
