Night Riots, Dreamers & The Maine @ Ace of Spades in Sacramento, CA

Review & Photography by: Samantha Toy

Over 200 fans across Northern California came together to watch some of the best artists perform at Ace of Spades. Fortunately, the Sacramento date was just the second date of tour so luckily all of the bands had enough energy to bring the best performances to town.

Night Riots opened the show, and I was so excited to see what they had to bring to The Maine’s crowd. I’ve heard of Night Riots many times in the past, and I was very impressed by their live performance. From their first song and by their great fashion sense, you can tell the band has a dark and mysterious side especially to their latest record, “Love Gloom” which released last year. During the middle/end of their set, the band performed “Free Fallin’” in honor of the late Tom Petty, and I automatically fell in love with them.

Next on the lineup was Dreamers originating from Brooklyn, New York and it already has been my third time seeing them this year. Dreamers consists of Nick Wold (vocals/guitar), Marc Nelson (bass/backup vocals), and Jacob Wick (drums/backup vocals) who all formed the band just a couple of years ago. Right from the moment they walked onstage, you knew they had a special connection with the crowd and they did. They performed songs off their latest record, “This Album Does Not Exist” which are all killer songs I might add.

Last on the list was The Maine from Phoenix, AZ who performed their two latest records, “Lovely, Little, Lonely” and “American Candy.” This rock group brought everybody in the room dancing along to their music even if you didn’t know their music. After the band performed their first record, they did a quick 5-10 minute intermission as they changed suit colors from white to blue in recognition of their album cover colors.

That was definitely an unforgettable night, and make sure to pick up tickets now to see all three of these amazing artists! I gladly became a fan of Night Riots, and I will most definitely be looking out for next tour dates next year. More information is at the following links below.
