Sweater Beats, Wingtip, & Giraffage @ Wonder Ballroom in Portland, OR

Review & Photography by: Tariq Abdellatif

Giraffage stopped by Portland’s Wonder Ballroom on this last Saturday on November 18. Sweater Beats and Wingtip were the opening acts.

Both coming with their different styles of electronic music, Sweater Beats and Wingtip definitely got the crowd pumped with some chill and experimental electronic tunes. Sweater Beats gave an energetic live performance fully equipped with his turntables and even an electric guitar.

Giraffage’s set started at 10:45 with arguably his most famous song “Slowly” off his new album Too Real. The main focus of this tour was for fans to witness the new music off that album. His stage set up was simple yet one of my favorites, rings surrounding the table with his instruments and equipment made for an amazing production with amazing music that blended so well with it. I personally prefer shows where you feel something inside with the music and Giraffage’s entire set gave me that feeling. The crowd was connected with him the whole time even if he’s an artist of a few words, barely saying three sentences his entire time on stage.

If you’re considering seeing Giraffage, you should definitely go. It was a night to remember.
