The Darkness @ Eventim Apollo in London, UK

Review & Photography by: Dan Landsburgh

The Darkness hasn’t been on my music radar for the past two years since I shot them at Boardmasters, but I can tell you they never disappoint. Since then, they’ve brought a couple new tracks to the table, which everyone seems to enjoy, along with more pyro.

The atmosphere before the show was very electric, and I couldn’t wait to hear Justin’s high vocals bellowing out, “It’s Christmas time, don’t let the bells end” since we’re in December. Once thing I have to love about this band is that their music is very distinctive, and it combines rock n’ roll with some classic tunes. My favorite part was them not taking the show seriously, and they took a mid show break to hit the glitter ball with a plectrum (guitar pick).

This was by far the best show to photograph at the end of the year, and I’m glad I got to see The Darkness again but with Christmas songs along with confetti.
