Vince Staples & Tyler, The Creator @ The Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Portland, OR

Review & Photography by: Tariq Abdellatif

The first to come out on stage in front of a packed coliseum was Vince Staples. Beforehand the crowd was eagerly waiting to finally start dancing and going crazy. Vince Staples definitely set the bar high for the rest of the evening, especially when he performed his most famous single “Norf Norf.”

Last but certainly not least to finish up the show was the man himself, Tyler, The Creator. From famous hits like “Pothole” with Jaden Smith and “Who Dat Boy” with A$AP Rocky, it was a very high energy performance that didn’t stop for any breaks. To open his set, Tyler, The Creator appeared at the top of a giant tree like setup before descending to the center of the stage. Behind the giant tree were palm trees and giant LED screens behind the tree and zig-zagged above the stage displayed visuals throughout the night. Fans knew the words to every word of every song he performed. He of course ended the night with his current hit single “See You Again.” A perfect way to end a high energy tour.
