Girlpool @ Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA

Girlpool has been touring almost nonstop since the release of their new album Powerplant in May of 2017. The duo from LA released their sophomore album on the label Anti-, Epitaph’s sister label, after working with record label Wichita Recordings for their previous album and EP. The 12-track, half-hour album is a clear progression from their first album, while still keeping their vulnerable, raw roots.
Their February tour with Forth Wanderers and Land of Talk features mostly songs off of Powerplant, with a few Girlpool classics, like the songs Ideal World and Chinatown. They also have added their new single Picturesong to the setlist for this tour. At their show at the Paradise in Boston, the venue was packed full of fans, with almost everyone knowing every word to their songs. The show was a collective sigh of relief for both the band and the audience; it was raw, unapologetic, and real, just what was expected of Girlpool. Members Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad joked on stage, impressing everyone with their natural ability to demand your attention just with their presence.
