On February 19th, Of Mice & Men’s Defy Tour came to The Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. Fans filled the sidewalk waiting for the doors to open to see the many bands on the lineup. MSCW (pronounced Moscow) a female fronted band, kicked off the show with some high-energy rock music. Cane Hill followed their set, with a much heavier metal set list. I have never heard or seen them live, but after seeing them, I highly recommend everyone check them out. They will a band to look out for on future tours. Fans continued to fill into the venue, getting ready for the much anticipated set from Of Mice & Men. The next two bands to take the stage definitely brought the energy and got the crowd warmed up. Fire From The Gods has an unique sound mixing a hardcore metal sound with some lyrics sounding more like rap. Blessthefall got the crowd moving, initiating crowd-surfing, moshing and also hopped off the stage to interact with the fans even more.
Finally Of Mice & Men came on, opening with their single Defy. They played their much loved cover of Money, as well as many others off their latest album “Defy”. Throughout their entire set, the crowd never stopped moving and singing along to their favorite songs. Of Mice & Men preformed an excellent set and I would recommend anyone who has never seen them live to grab a ticket to the Defy Tour when they come to a local city.
