Awolnation @ Fox Theatre in Oakland, CA

Review & Photography by: Samantha Toy

Indie-alternative band, Awolnation, stopped by Oakland, California’s famous Fox Theatre in honor of their new record, “Here Come The Runts Tour.” For a packed crowd on a Tuesday night, almost every single person in that building was either screaming at the top of their lungs, or dancing along to the music.

At 9:15 sharp, Awolnation came onstage beginning their set with a self-titled song, “Here Come The Runts” along with frontman’s Aaron Bruno’s cape showing, “The Runts” in their memorable font, and his cowboy hat. From the second they walked onstage, everyone roared, and some cried with excitement to see their favorite band just a few feet away from them. For at least 75 minutes, everyone sang along nonstop especially during the band’s huge song, “Sail” which I’m sure you have heard of it at least once in your life either at a local store playing, or on the radio in your car. Wrapping up their incredible 75-minute set, I definitely enjoyed myself, and I hope you have the chance to see them live.

Make sure to see Awolnation in a city near you in these next few months, and you can listen to their brand new record below! Tickets are available here.
