NXNE Festival 2018

In it’s 23rd yearly edition, NXNE music performances return free of charge to Yonge-Dundas Square. In prior years, the square laid ground as the main music venue allowing the masses to fill the downtown hub to the brim. See our picks for our most anticipating acts below!

With the welcomed change back to its roots, NXNE is slated to be a highlight of this summer’s musical offerings in the city of Toronto!

Jazz Cartier

Also known as Jacuzzi LaFleur has made a name for himself, hailing from Toronto he boasts winning 2017s Juno Rap Recording of the Year for Hotel Paranoia. The 25 year old continues to provide the hard-hitting rap bars with his newest release “Godflower”, see the music video below and don’t miss out on his set here.

Seon Leon

Toronto’s own Seon Leon also provides proof worth arguing Toronto as one of the most talented rap cities, with his enigmatic tracks Leon also carries Toronto on his back. Hear his tracks below and see for yourself here.

Big Freedia

Unapologetically fierce and vivacious, Big Freedia is here to share her voice loud and queer. You’ll know her voice from features in the latest R&B, hip-hop hits like Beyonce’s “Formation” and Drake’s newest “Nice For What”. R&B songstress has recently released her awaited record <em>Joyride, </em>the third record features rappers Future, Offset, Ty Dolla Sign and on production the likes of Hitmaka, with Tinashe also serving as a producer on the record. Scotts CHRVCHES have dropped their latest record <em>Love is Dead</em>, the record offers the enchanting synth-pop sound we’ve come to know from the trio. With Lauren Mayberry at the helm, she continues to make room for female-fronted rock acts.
