Jamie Lenman & The Marmozets @ O2 Forum Kentish Town, London UK
Photographs & Review by: Bryony Murch
Weekends always start with a bang and this Friday night was no exception. Making a special appearance in the historic O2 Forum – Kentish Town London, Marmozets took to the stage and raised the bar to kick start their biggest tour to date.
Crowds grew, minutes past, lights dimmed and incredible Jamie Lenman took to the stage. Dressed in all white head to toe, with a stickerbombed guitar and passionate presence, the first chord dropped and the crowd lit up! Performing with every fibre of energy, Lenman dripped with enthusiasm and brought a bewildering yet fantastic perspective to the stage. English born singer, songwriter and guitarist, Jamie Lenman has been part of the alternative rock scene from 1998 – 2008, 2013 – present. His experimental style to this genre has been a focal point of all his works, and when it comes to live performance, one thing I’d say is always expect the unexpected, you won’t be disappointed!
Smoke dusted the stage, a backdrop lowered and a singular white rose was presented on a mic stand in front of the crowd, Marmozets were minutes away from setting The Forum on fire! The crowd radiated energy and as soon as drummer, Joshy Mac, walked on stage, they erupted! Opening with their hit single ‘Play’, both the band and crowd were jumping in complete synchronisation, I’ve witnessed many bands perform but there was something incredible personal about this appearance that made it such a significant triumph for the Marmozets. Hit after hit, the stamina of both Marmozets and the crowd continued, from slower songs to fast paced ballads, the atmosphere shook through all who were involved.
Next leg for this dynamic band is hitting Europe, so if you see a post, picture or comment about this tour, grab yourself a ticket, tell your friends and get yourself down to see the Marmozets!
