Joywave & Sir Sly @ The Observatory North Park in San Diego, California

This fall, Joywave and Sir Sly co-headlined a tour they named “Joywave and Sir Sly present: An Evening with Sir Sly and Joywave.” The performance by both bands fit well in an unexpected way and made for a very entertaining night.
One of my favorite moments was when lead singer of Joywave, Daniel, hopped on stage to join Sir Sly in singing one of their songs. It’s evident that the chemistry between the two bands mesh well and the members from both bands became fast friends on tour.
The moment Sir Sly walked out the entire room started cheering, the energy was palpable. Lead singer Landon managed to interweave personal moments into the set, bringing the crowd along for an unforgettable set. Through Landon’s anecdotes he managed to make the room feel smaller and more intimate, as if it was a friend talking to another friend and sharing their life with each other. In addition, the backdrop by Sir Sly was an incredibly cool light up brain that matched the overall set well.
Joywave’s set started out rather different, it’s hard to describe what went down but it was a moment that I’m surely never to forget. The backdrop of Joywave’s set was the album cover to their 2017 album: Content. Lead singer Daniel was a joy to watch as he walked around the stage, commanding the attention of the audience.
If you have the chance to see either Sir Sly or Joywave, I would highly recommend it.
Sir Sly and Joywave are no longer on tour together but you can check them out at their various social media below!
