State Champs @ House of Blues in Anaheim, CA
Review & photography by Alan Cruz
State Champs are “Living Proof” that the pop-punk scene is alive and well. That’s also the name of their current tour and most recent album.
March 24th, they rolled through the House of Blues in Anaheim, Ca with Grayscale, The Dangerous Summer, and Our Last Night. Fans of all ages sold out the main room at the fairly new venue eager to see these boys put on a show. They did not disappoint. Kicking things off with their catchy, high-energy song “Criminal” the crowd immediately was electric. Mosh pits and crowd surfers ensued not long after. The band ripped through banger after banger from their newest album such as, “Frozen” and “Mine is Gold”, and yet still pleased the long time fans with the older favorites like, “Remedy” (off “The Finer Things”) and “Perfect Score” (off “Around the World”).
Champs sent the fans to go home happy by closing out the night with their most popular jam, “Secrets.” This will probably be published after the Living Proof tour is over as there were only about 3 shows left after this one. Anyhow, make sure to check out the album “Living Proof” on all steaming services and catch them on the next tour that comes through your town.
