Bad Sounds & BROODS @ The Truman in Kansas City, MO
Review & photography by Tori Collene
Walking into the venue, I had no idea what to expect from Bad Sounds. I honestly had never heard of them, but that was going to change. They mentioned that it was their first time in Kansas City, and they absolutely rocked it! Originating from England, Bad Sounds have a kind of funky-alternative-pop feel, and are fronted by brothers Callum and Ewan. Their vibe is fantastic; not only are their tunes groovy, but the way they connect with the audience and carry themselves, makes you want to be friends with them. I can honestly say, I left the venue that night as a new Bad Sounds fan.
As always, BROODS killed it! The electro-pop duo from New Zealand always have this fantastic spark that fills the entire room and makes you want to dance. They seem to have an endless amount of energy, never stopping throughout the whole set. Lights flashing, Georgia Nott (lead singer) dances all over the stage while staying in perfect pitch. The entire audience was letting loose, dancing, and singing at the top of their lungs.
