The Great Escape @ Brighton Beach in Brighton, England
Review & photography by Dan Landsburgh
An annual multi-venue showcase held across Brighton and Hove, and even if you were able to get your hands on a ticket there more than enough free entertainment and music happening around various spots of the seaside town.
With an amazing line up some of well know bands like Frank Cater &the Rattlesnakes, Lady Bird, Friendly Fires to name but a few alone with n entourage on up and coming bands there’s a lot to try and squeeze into the weekend.
On the other side of things with a lot of venues only being able to hold as small amount of people you wont be able to get to see everyone you were planning to see with cues for shows that have well past capacity there were even show I was not able to see due to this possible over site.
That being said I can also see this as being part of the experience of it all even with the bigger festival you never get to see every one on your list an not being get in to some shows I was able to discover new bands I had planned to seeing.
All in all sun, sea, cues, and discovering some new bands ill being keeping my eyes on for the foreseeable future. I’m interested to see what next years festival with hold an who I might unknowingly being adding to my Spotify playlist.
Bands covered: Black Peaks, Confidence Man, Easy Life, Fat White Family, Fata Boom, Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes, Indoor Pets, Lady Bird, Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, and Talk Show
