Chase Atlantic @ Ace of Spades in Sacramento, CA

Review & photography by Marisela Delgado

Australian Pop band, Chase Atlantic made their way to Sacramento for their “Phases” tour. I discovered the band on Spotify and have been a big fan of their “Nostalgia” album. Their new album “Phases” definitely inherits their pop genre. Making my way to Ace of Spades I walk through four blocks of fans ready to dance and sing. Opening act Lauren Sanderson composes her own beats and definitely got the crowd hyped for Chase Atlantic. I’ve never heard of her before, and I definitely became a fan. Her music is about self-realization, cutting off toxic relationships/friendships and most importantly, not caring what others think. After her set, the crew began to set up for Chase Atlantic.

Hearing screams and chants for the band to approach the stage, the lights go out, various colors light up the venue and one by one the members approach the stage. Playing songs off their current album the crowd has a hard time singing along to the lyrics. However, when they play their older songs, fans and myself sing along to their hit singles. As I’m running around the venue finding perfect spots to shoot from, girls are sitting on top of their friends’ shoulders, friends are dancing with each other, and intoxication was definitely involved with others.

It was a pleasure photographing Chase Atlantic and being around attendees having a great time. If you haven’t heard of Chase Atlantic or have seen them live, do yourself a favor and check them out.
