In August 2019, Snoh Aalegra released her sophomore album, – ugh, those feels again. The album is a combination of highs and lows of the journey of falling in and out of love. The album was executive produced by No I.D. Her album was followed by an appropriately titled 7-date tour named ” ugh, a mini tour, again”. Snoh brings Giveon and Baby Rose as support.
The Toronto stop of the tour was held at The Danforth Music Hall. Fans line the street that lead to the Hall awaiting the Iranian-Swedish songstress and to listen to her incredible vocals live, and doors open at 7 pm.
Giveon is first to perform. An artist with smooth vocals, his set was nothing short of mesmerizing. The audience was absolutely and completely entranced by his performance and I would definitely recommend seeing him live if ever given the opportunity to do so.
Baby Rose was up next. Her set was full of energy, and her stage presence and the way she had the crowd involved and the way she can control the crowd was a wonder to see. Her smooth and sultry vocals were incredible live and her vibe was absolutely otherworldly. She is definitely an artist to watch out for.
The main act is none other than Snoh Aalegra, the songstress has been one to watch since the release of her debut album FEELS, released in 2017. She gained even more traction when Drake sampled one of her songs, “Time”, on his compilation tape More Life on the song “Do Not Disturb”. Snoh comes out to absolutely deafening cheers from the crowd, and performs songs like her aptly named “Toronto”, which resulted in the crowd going absolutely crazy. She dedicated her song “Time” from her debut album to her father who passed 10 years ago and anyone else who had lost a loved one. She also performed her love ballad “Situationship”, which chronicles the struggles of falling in and out of love. The set lighting and her performance were absolutely incredible and her vocals were second to none. Snoh is truly an incredible artist and the way that she had the crowd begging and screaming for more just goes to show how incredible she is to see live.
