On February 9th, EarthGang makes their return to Toronto as part of their Welcome To Mirrorland Tour. The tour began on January 16th in Seattle, with artists Mick Jenkins and Jurdan Bryant coming on as support for the 27-date tour. The duo had previously been touring in 2019 as well and decided to extend their tour into 2020, ending the North American portion of their massive tour on February 26th in Atlanta.
The duo consists of Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot, created the Atlanta-based musical collective known as Spillage Village along with a few others, including fellow Dreamville member JID, as well as 6LACK.
Coming along on this tour as a special guest is Mick Jenkins, a rapper based in Chicago who recently released an EP, known as The Circus on January 10th. Jenkins has been gaining popularity the past few years, with the release of his second studio album, Pieces of a Man in 2018, being given a 4 out of 5 by Highsnobiety, and considered to be an incredible album.
Also joining Mick as an opener is fellow Spillage Village member, Jurdan Bryant. Jurdan is one of the original members of the collective and has been releasing singles under the radar, but is definitely someone to look out for in the future.
Having recently come off their 2019 tour and having one of their songs with fellow Dreamville artists nominated for the Grammy Awards, EarthGang is definitely starting off the decade right, and this tour is sure to kick things off in the best way. The duo is promoting their major label debut album, Mirrorland, which had been released in September of last year, and features songs such as “Stuck”, “Proud of U”, and “UP” as well as some big names, including Kehlani, Young Thug, and T-Pain.
The show is sure to be a great one and I definitely cannot wait to see the energy and incredible stage presence of this duo! You can find tickets for a stop near you on Ticketmaster, and this is a show you definitely do not want to miss!
